Renault Korea Motors (CEO Stéphane Deblaise, hereinafter referred to as Renault Korea) held the “2023 Supplier Conference” on the 16th at Renault Technology Korea in Yongin, inviting approximately 200 representatives from its partner companies. Through this conference, Renault Korea shared its future strategies and presented awards to outstanding suppliers.

The Renault Korea Supplier Conference is held annually to share key business strategies and explore ways to strengthen competitiveness for sustainable mutual growth with parts suppliers. This year’s event focused on sharing the company’s plans for developing eco-friendly future vehicle models and its direction toward becoming an automotive tech company, while requesting active participation and support from parts suppliers.

During the “Supplier of the Year” awards ceremony held alongside the conference, five outstanding suppliers that demonstrated exceptional performance in new vehicle projects were recognized. The “Performance – BOP (Bought-Out Parts)” awards were presented to △Adient DongSung and △Heesung Catalyst. The “Quality” award went to △Yujin SMRC Automotive Techno Co., Ltd. The “R&D” award was presented to △AMS Co., Ltd., and the “Win-Win Growth” award went to △Osstem.

△Adient DongSung, which received the “Performance – BOP” award, was recognized for its contributions to future new vehicle projects through various initiatives, including design changes and supplier diversification. △Heesung Catalyst, which also received the same award, stood out for its innovation in changing the composition and reducing the weight of precious metal materials used in catalysts. Through these efforts, the company achieved efficient production and enhanced product price competitiveness, while also contributing to the manufacturing of environmentally friendly products.

△Yujin SMRC Automotive Techno Co., Ltd., which received the “Quality” award, contributed through close collaboration with Renault Korea’s assembly and quality departments in applying a new assembly production method. By leveraging assembly and production process know-how not previously applied to mass-produced models, the company helped improve R&D and quality operations at the Busan plant.

△AMS Co., Ltd. received the “R&D” award. The company demonstrated outstanding performance in optimizing new vehicle design and responded proactively to design changes throughout the development process, greatly contributing to enhancing the competitiveness of the new vehicle project.

△Osstem, which received the “Win-Win Growth” award, was selected for a government-supported project and is currently localizing the production of rear axles to be included in new vehicle models. In addition, the company is actively participating in the localization of subframes for new vehicles through technical partnerships with domestic firms.

Stéphane Deblaise, President of Renault Korea, expressed his appreciation for the efforts of all partner companies, stating, “Renault Korea Motors is currently focusing on strengthening its competitiveness through new vehicle development. All of this stems from mutual growth and innovation with our partners, and we will spare no effort in achieving shared growth with them.”

Meanwhile, Renault Korea launched the XM3 E-TECH Hybrid last October, featuring a hybrid system that closely resembles a fully electric vehicle. Next year, the company plans to introduce a new mid-size hybrid SUV to both domestic and global markets, built on the CMA platform, which is also used by leading global brands such as Volvo and Lynk & Co.
